Love magick is the magick used to bind the passions of another person through magickal means. It can be implemented in a variety of ways, such as written spells, dolls, charms, amulets, potions, or through spells and magick rituals.

This form of magick includes a wide range of spells for romance, sex, potency, and female fertility. It is one of the most popular spell categories. There are many love spells, and all these products are believed to help attract love, affection and consolidate existing relationships. Love magick is found on cuneiform tablets from the ancient Near East, in ancient Egyptian texts, in the Greco-Roman world, the Middle Ages, and up to the present day.

Love Magick in Witchcraft

In most traditions, love magick is perfectly acceptable. It is something that is part of nature and is no more or less unethical than wearing a sexy perfume or a cute short dress to seduce or blind the other. For us solitary witches, it is important not to judge the motives of the other and not to point with a finger, or to judge the other on "good and evil."

But…. Before casting a spell that influences another person, think about the consequences. How does it affect you, but also the other? Will the spell cause damage? Will it cause you to hurt anyone directly or indirectly? These are all things you think about, whether it's love magick or any other kind of magick.

But what about the Law of Tree?

The basis of magick consists, among other things, of the following parts: "Like Causes Like”, the "Law of Attraction" and "As Above So Below”. We have therefore thrown out the law of three very quickly. The law of three has nothing to do with magick. What you give is what you get, nothing more and nothing less. Nature does not think in laws of tree, neither does magick.

Magick has no color, it's what it is and it's up to the solitaire witch to make the right choices and to take the right steps to reach the end result they want. The Law of Ethics would be a better description. As Christianity has dogmas: "The devil and God, good and evil”, witchcraft also has her own dogmas. “black magick and white magick”, “good magick and bad magick”, “good and bad entities”.

Do as you wish, if you do not harm anyone, feels a lot better for us, and you take responsibility for what you do without the fear of "punishment." The closing "If harm none, so mote it be" often prevents a lot of misery for all parties involved.

What kind of love magick is ethical then?

Instead of throwing love magick over someone, and expecting the other to be your dedicated clerk and door mat, you can also see love magick as a method of (a) try to get the other to see you and (b) getting the other to see "all the good and great things that makes you a nice personality.

If you act from this perspective, you can work with love magick and still allow the other to keep his or her free will. Because you want the other person to fall on your nice personality, and nothing less? But that's our personal opinion ... ..
